Norris Schroeder, age 92, of Thorndale, passed away April 28, 2022, in Taylor.

Norris was born July 19, 1929, in Thorndale. His parents were Emil A. and Rosa Krieg Schroeder.

He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale, where he was baptized and confirmed by Rev. F.H. Steltzer. He was a graduate of Thorndale High School and served in the army from 1951-1953.

At the age of nine, he began helping his father in his sheet metal shop and went on to operate his own business, Lee Metal Products, in Taylor, for 40 years. He was an associate member of the Thorndale V.F.D.

The family will remember Grandpa as a quiet, unassuming, faithful man who enjoyed dancing with Ruby, playing 42 very competitively, and most importantly, as one who loved the Lord and singing praises to Him.

Norris was preceded in death by Ruby, his wife of 42 years; his parents, Emil and Rosa Schroeder; and his sister and brother-in-law, Bernice and Lambert Schroeder.

He is survived by stepdaughter and son-in-law, Patricia and John Meiller; four grandchildren and their spouses, Paul and Alison Meiller, Randall and Marti Niemtschk, Mark and Ashley Meiller, and Crystal and Eric Pena; and eight great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held May 19, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale. Visitation will precede the service at 1 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church General Fund.
